Building a Realistic ICE High-Speed Train for my Minecraft Create Survival World
One of the biggest missing pieces of my transportation network has always been realistic passenger trains. While freight trains have been transporting resources across the world for quite some time, I wanted to create something that would make traveling between future cities and railway stations feel much more alive.
For this reason, I recently started building my own version of the famous German ICE (InterCity Express) using the Create Mod. Instead of downloading an existing schematic, I decided to design the train myself so it perfectly fits the scale, style, and railway infrastructure of my survival world.
The project is still being refined, but the first complete prototype is now finished and already gives a good impression of what passenger transport will look like in the future.
Designing a Realistic ICE Train
The goal was never to build a one-to-one replica of a real ICE train. Instead, I wanted to capture its iconic appearance while adapting it to Minecraft's blocky style and the technical limitations of the Create Mod.
The characteristic white body, the continuous red stripe running along the sides, the large passenger windows and the streamlined front section were all carefully recreated to make the train instantly recognizable.
Finding the right proportions took several iterations. Every carriage had to match the overall design while still leaving enough interior space for passengers and future detailing.
Although Minecraft blocks naturally limit the level of detail that can be achieved, I am very happy with how closely the finished train resembles its real-world inspiration.
A Fully Detailed Passenger Interior
Unlike many decorative train builds, I wanted this ICE to feature a complete interior instead of empty carriages.
Each passenger coach includes rows of seats arranged around tables, creating a layout similar to what you would expect inside a modern high-speed train. Large windows allow passengers to enjoy the surrounding landscape while traveling between cities.
The central aisle provides enough room to move through the train comfortably, while the lighting creates a bright and welcoming atmosphere inside each carriage.
Even though most players will probably spend more time looking at the outside of the train than sitting inside it, adding a detailed interior makes the entire project feel much more realistic and complete.
Small details like the seat arrangement, tables and spacious passenger compartment help transform the train from a simple moving vehicle into something that actually feels like public transportation.
Built for the Future Central Railway Station
This project is closely connected to another major construction project currently underway in my survival world: the future Central Railway Station.
In fact, designing the train has helped determine the final size of the station itself. Before I can build realistic platforms, I first need to know exactly how long my passenger trains will be.
Now that the ICE prototype has been completed, I can accurately calculate the required platform lengths, station entrances and waiting areas before construction begins.
This approach allows me to design the station around the trains instead of trying to force trains into an already finished station later.
Future Passenger Services Across the World
Once the railway network has been completed, this ICE will become one of the main forms of transportation throughout my Create world.
The train is planned to operate regular passenger services between the major railway stations that are currently under construction. Instead of simply teleporting between locations, players will eventually be able to travel across the world using a realistic rail network powered entirely by the Create Mod.
Several stations are already being planned, and as the railway expands, additional routes and services will be introduced.
Watching high-speed passenger trains arrive and depart from busy stations is something I have wanted to include in this world for a long time, and this ICE is an important first step toward making that vision a reality.
Powered by the Create Mod
Like most transportation systems in my survival world, the train is powered using the incredible mechanics provided by the Create Mod.
The Create Mod allows moving contraptions that make projects like this possible while still fitting naturally into a survival environment. Combining realistic train designs with functional railway systems has become one of my favourite parts of building this world.
Over time, I plan to expand the passenger fleet with additional train types, regional services and perhaps even different colour schemes for specific routes.
What's Next?
Although the first ICE is now complete, this project is far from finished.
The next major milestone will be completing the Central Railway Station, where this train will eventually begin operating. Platform roofs, ticket halls, pedestrian bridges, underground subway connections and surrounding city infrastructure are all still waiting to be built.
I also plan to improve the railway environment itself by adding more signals, overhead line structures, realistic platform furniture and additional landscaping around the tracks.
Once everything is connected, passengers will be able to travel between cities, industrial districts and future expansion areas using a fully functional railway network instead of relying only on roads.

Looking Ahead
Building this ICE has been one of the most enjoyable transportation projects in my Minecraft Create Survival World so far. It combines realistic design, detailed interiors and functional Create mechanics into a vehicle that will eventually become an essential part of the world's transportation network.
There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead before the railway system is fully operational, but seeing the first passenger train standing on the tracks already makes the future of the project feel much more real.
As more railway stations are completed and additional routes become available, this ICE will finally begin carrying passengers across the growing world, connecting cities, industries and future districts through one integrated transportation network.
